On May 16, the most influential actors in the Saudi Arabian solar sector met for the first time to discuss current projects and further measures to expand solar energy in Saudi Arabia. Representatives of Saudi Arabian government authorities, leading companies and research institutions decided to establish a solar taskforce which will serve as an interactive communication platform and as a representation of interests. Saudi Aramco, one of the world´s largest oil corporations, will assume a leading role.
E-mobility: Local decision makers play a key role

First results of Apricum´s “ E-Mobility Readiness Study” - an international comparison of e-mobility market launch efforts - shows, that those concepts are the most successful ones, which are based on a close cooperation between regional and local decision makers. Notably municipalities are of particular importance in enabling e-mobility market development and should therefore become more involved in creating and implementing strategic concepts and take part in the discussion regarding public funding.

Turkey's geographic location renders one of the world's highest solar irradiation and its population of 70 million makes Turkey one of the most populous countries in Europe. Its growing industrialized economy coupled with an increase in living standards has already put upward pressure on Turkey's energy demand.
